ChromeOS VPN Installation and Configuration:
Steps:
Download the VPN Configuration File.
Install OpenVPN Connect.
Configure the VPN connection.
STEP 1: Downloading the VPN Configuration File:
This file contains information for the VPN connection and will be used during the installation steps below.
Click this link: Client.ovpn
Click Download
Select My Files > Downloads
Click Save


STEP 2: Installation:
Open Google Play from your Shelf (Taskbar) or go to https://play.google.com
Click on the Magnifying Glass icon, top-right, and type the following into the search bar: OpenVPN Connect
Click on the (first) selection with the name, OpenVPN Connect - Fast & Safe SSL VPN Client, as shown below:

Next, you’ll see the installation screen. Click on the green button labeled, Install.

Once the app finishes installing, the green button will change to Open. Click on the green button to open the app.

A small window appears with Terms and Conditions, which you must agree to before using the app. Click AGREE at the bottom of the window.

With OpenVPN Connect now open, you’re presented with two main areas at the top, URL and File. We will be importing the .OVPN file downloaded earlier. Click on FIle.

OpenVPN Connect will ask for permission to access your files. Click Allow.

You’ll be given a list of folders to choose from. Click on Download.

You should now see a file called client.ovpn as the only option. Select the file, which will turn orange and place a check mark to the right of it. Click on the Import button.

You should now see confirmation that the profile was successfully imported. The Profile Name should read: 71.175.11.158.

Enter your FCS Windows Account (not Email/Google) Username in the Username field, in this format: first-initial-last-name
Example: authpoint\dcrowley
Click on the Save Password checkbox to mark it.
Enter your FCS Windows Account Password in the field that appears. Your screen should now look like this:

Click the checkbox next to Connect after import, and then click on ADD at the top.

OpenVPN will now connect with the school network. Another warning will appear asking if you want to make the connection. Click OK.

You should now be connected to the FCS network, and the OpenVPN Connect screen should look similar to this:

Congratulations! You’re now connected to the FCS Network!
To Disconnect:
Open OpenVPN Connect from the Shelf and click the green slider next to OpenVPN Profile.


You will be asked to confirm that you wish to disconnect. Click OK.

You should now see a status of DISCONNECTED.

To Reconnect:
Open OpenVPN Connect from the Shelf and click the slider/button next to OpenVPN Profile.

When connected, the status will turn green and change to CONNECTED. You will be presented with the summary screen again.
