Book shared rooms through Google Calender
You can book certain rooms on campus through your FCS Google calendar. To get started, open your Google Calendar and click on the day you’d like to book; the specific time does not matter right now as we can edit this in a minute. After clicking on the calendar, select “More Options”. This will bring you to a detailed view of the “event”; fill out the title, date and time of the event. IMPORTANT: Make sure to specify an exact start and end time of your event. Events default to 1 hour, so it is important for you to enter in the exact start and end time of your scheduled event. On the right hand side of the page, select Rooms to see a list of available rooms. Click the dropdown arrow next to the room and then click the room name. It will then appear in the Where section of your event. After adding the room, be sure to verify the time and date of the event and SAVE. This event will now appear on your personal calendar as well as the room calendar (others will see the book as booked during that time).

Sharing a form with a Veracross distribution list
You can't share a Google form with a Veracross distribution list- it won't send. You need to copy the link address of the Google form and paste it into the body of an email to your class. To do this, open the form you'd like to share and select the "Share" button at the top right. Next, click the link icon to see the URL of the form. Highlight and copy this URL. Now, open a new email and enter in the Veracross distribution list into the "To" field. Paste the form link into the body of the email. The Veracross distribution list will now be able to see and submit the form once you send the email!

Toggle mirror mode and extended display in Chrome OS
You can choose either “Mirrored” or “Extended Desktop” mode for your displays. In Mirrored mode, you have a single desktop and it’s mirrored on all your displays. In Extended Desktop mode, each display simply gives you more desktop room and they’re separate. You can also toggle between Mirrored and Extended Desktop modes from anywhere in Chrome OS via a keyboard shortcut. Just press the Ctrl and (F4) keys at the same time.

How to Reset KnowBe4 Phish Alert (The “fish hook”)
Problem Description: You received an email you believe to be a Phishing attempt, but when you click on the Phish Alert icon in Gmail to report it, nothing happens. Cause: The Phish Alert icon doesn’t work because it was denied the ability to access your Gmail account. When signing into Google/Gmail after an update or on a new device, you will receive a prompt from Phish Alert, asking for permission to access your Gmail account. Occasionally, this prompt doesn't appear, and the icon will stop functioning. Resolution: This issue can be fixed by giving Phish Alert permission to access your email and send messages on your behalf when reporting: In Chrome, click on the puzzle piece icon at top-right. If you hover the cursor over it, you'll see "Extensions" pop-up. In the Extensions list, look for the "Phish Alert" listing and click on the 3 vertical dots to the right of it, and then click on "Options". In the Phish Alert options screen, you'll see a section for Permissions. Click the "Validate Permissions" button. You may see a message saying "Permissions Updated." If so, you're all set and you can close that tab. If you don't see the Validate Permissions button, you should be prompted to give Phish Alert permission to "access email on your behalf". There will be an "Allow" button at the bottom that you can click to do this. Once that's done, your Phish Hook. If it doesn't seem to be working right away, try closing and re-opening the tab (all tabs) with Gmail open.

A Reminder Of How To Report Suspicious Emails
Phishing emails are designed to trick you into revealing sensitive information, such as bank account information or passwords. We have seen an increase in this type of email coming into our domain, so we wanted to remind you that there are several different ways that you can report a suspicious email. The Phish Hook (Recommend Method) You may have noticed an orange phish hook in your FCS Gmail inbox, which is a reporting method from Knowbe4. We recommend reporting a suspicious email via this method as it sends FCIT a detailed report which allows us to thoroughly assess the email. You may also receive simulated phishing emails from KnowBe4, and clicking the phish hook will allow you to see if the email is sent from them. The phish hook lives in your inbox, and is always available when you check off or open a message. This is also available if you use the Gmail app on your phone. Scroll to the bottom of an email to see and click the phish hook. Report Through GMail Google also has a “Report Spam” button built into Gmail that you can use. The email will then be quarantined for FCIT and Google to assess. Forward To Helpdesk/FCIT Department Sure, you can forward to our Helpdesk or to an individual member of the FCIT department, but we will likely respond and ask you to do one of the options listed above! However, the most important thing is to be aware and alert, so you are welcome to run it by us first if you’d like. What We Do When We Get A Phishing Alert FCIT takes one or more of the following actions if the email you reporting is phishing: Block the sender from emailing FCS users Block the domain from contacting FCS users Report the user/domain to Google Delete the email from user inboxes (if high risk) Create a quarantine rule to filter similar emails What To Do If You Think You Got Phished Immediately report the suspicious email using one of the above methods Email helpdesk@friendscentral.org and we can assist in securing your account
